Bryan was not only my first boyfriend, my first love, my first everything, he was my other half and my soulmate. We met in November of 2023 while he was at EDC in Orlando and I was studying at UCF. We have been talking and I remember his first words he ever said to me on facetime were, “I love your smile”. Our first in person date in January we immediately hit it off and made it official, and the rest was history.
Throughout our 2 and a half years together, I have learned what real love was. Bryan was a genuine soul who was always loyal and made sure every moment was special. His smile lit up a thousand stars and was such a romantic. We were long distance as well since he lived in Homestead and went to school at MDC while I went to UCF and my house was in northern Broward. In order to see me however, Bryan would save up money from his part time job to take the brightline and visit me. Every moment spent with him were the best moments of my life. Our favorite dates were getting Korean BBQ together and after heading back to the dorm to play board games and watch movies. EDC was our special tradtion and the best nights of my life with him. We dressed up in matching clothes and stand by each others side the whole way through. Our go to spot while in south florida was Dolphin Mall, as it split us halfway in distance. I remember one of my favorite memories was going to Ikea with him and planning out how our future house would look like with the furniture there. Even in those simple moments where we were long distance, we would call every single night at 11pm, either to play games, watch movies or just be in each others company. I could tell from even the simplest of moments that he was my future. We planned our entire life together. He even had plans to marry me and own a dog, naming it after his late dog Ty Ty. I just know right now he is in heaven with no pain and pure happiness, with his Ty Ty.
Without Bryan, there has been a void in all our hearts. I miss him everyday and write to him every night before going to bed, updating him on my life. The love I have for him will never go away, it only transformed into something otherworldly. I think about him every minute of the day, wishing I could just hug him one more time. But I know he is watching over me, and proud I am living my life in dedication to him. His quote, “Be stronger than your excuses” came from a large sticker on his wall above his closet that now holds special meaning to everyone. It signifies that no matter the circumstance, we will stand tall and continue to succeed in life for him. Bryan is an angel watching over all of us and being our number 1 supporter. He wants us to be happy and at peace, knowing that he is no longer in pain or sorrow. He misses us just as much as we miss us, but we need to stand strong and live for him. He is proud of each and every single one of us.
Bryan will never be forgotten, his legacy will move on. By working with the Resiliance Foundation, Bryan will have a special place in the Eternal Light Project, showing others how much of an amazing person Bryan truly was. I am so grateful I got to be Bryan’s girlfriend. I am thankful he got to be my first ever boyfriend and my everything. Even in times of pain and grief, I just know Bryan is there watching over me and loving me and it puts a smile on my face. The memories we had together will always be cherished and hold a special place in my heart.
To my angel in heaven:
We will see each other again I promise. The first person I am running to when I get to heaven is you, giving you the biggest hug and never letting go. Theres not a single day where I don’t cry with how much I miss you so much. Your loss held a huge tragedy on everyone’s life. My heart shattered into a million pieces when you left this earth. But I know you are watching down on all of us and so proud of us each and every day. I will continue to dedicate my life to you, and succeeding in my studies just as you wanted me to. I love you till the ends of the universe my soulmate.
